1. Who we are

Sprigley is a product of MiniVox Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16278583). When this policy refers to “Sprigley”, “we”, “us” or “our”, it means MiniVox Ltd operating the Sprigley service at sprigleyai.com.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under MiniVox Ltd. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at stevan@minivox.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

2.1 Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address and password. If you complete our onboarding, we may also collect your role (e.g. nursery practitioner, childminder, home educator), your setting name and town. This information is used to personalise your experience and is never sold to third parties.

2.2 Activity plans and content

We store the activity plans you generate and save, including your session notes, practitioner observations, and any edits you make. This content belongs to you.

2.3 Classroom data (My Room)

If you use the My Room feature, you may add children's first names to track engagement in sessions. We store first names only — no surnames, dates of birth, photographs, or any other identifying information about children. You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate consent from your setting and parents or guardians before adding children's names.

2.4 Usage data

We collect information about how you use Sprigley, including which features you use, plans you generate, and general usage patterns. This is used to improve the service and is never used to identify you individually in marketing.

2.5 Payment information

We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your card details — these are handled entirely by Stripe. We store your subscription status and Stripe customer ID to manage your account. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

2.6 Technical data

We collect standard technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited. This is used for security, performance and to fix technical issues.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the Sprigley service
  • Personalise your experience (e.g. adapting plans to your setting and age group)
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send you important service communications (e.g. subscription confirmation, account changes)
  • Improve and develop Sprigley based on how it is used
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Our legal basis for processing your data is:

  • Contract: to provide the service you have signed up for
  • Legitimate interests: to improve and secure the service
  • Legal obligation: to comply with UK law
  • Consent: where we have asked for your consent (e.g. newsletter opt-in)

4. AI-generated content

Sprigley uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate activity plans and other content. When you generate a plan, your inputs (topic, age group, activity type, and any additional context you provide) are sent to Anthropic's API to generate your plan. Please do not include sensitive personal information about identifiable children in your plan inputs. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

Activity plans generated by Sprigley are AI-assisted and intended as a starting point for professional practitioners. Sprigley does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any generated content. Practitioners remain responsible for assessing and adapting all plans to meet the individual needs of the children in their care.

Risk assessments generated by Sprigley are draft documents only. They must be reviewed, edited, and signed by a qualified practitioner before use. MiniVox Ltd accepts no liability for the use of any generated risk assessment.

5. Data sharing

We share data with the following third-party services to operate Sprigley:

  • Anthropic: AI content generation (your plan inputs)
  • Supabase: Database and data storage (hosted in the EU)
  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • Vercel / Netlify: Website hosting and deployment

All third-party services are bound by appropriate data processing agreements and comply with UK GDPR. If we transfer data outside the UK or EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place including Standard Contractual Clauses.

We may disclose your information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities if required to do so by law or to protect the rights and safety of others.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial purposes (e.g. payment records, which Stripe retains for up to 7 years for tax purposes).

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete my account.

7. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to data portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

8. Children's data

Sprigley is intended for use by adults (practitioners, childminders, and home educators aged 18 and over). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 years of age directly.

The My Room feature allows practitioners to store children's first names only for the purpose of tracking session engagement. This data is stored securely, is private to your account, and is never shared. Practitioners are responsible for ensuring appropriate consent is in place within their setting.

9. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls on our database. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please contact us immediately at stevan@minivox.co.uk.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised.

Your continued use of Sprigley after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
